Overview – Weeks 4, 5, & 6 of 12 week PD session

 

Assignment Overview

Moodle has been installed and configured on server.  The participants have agreed upon the theme, look, and modules to be used in the previous weeks.  In week 6 they will begin to create their individual course sites including one class and one unit plan with least two assignments.  One assignment should utilize a collaborative medium as a formative assessment, and the second should utilize an online response quiz as a summative assessment.   

 

This assignment will include weeks 4, 5, and 6 of 12.  Each session is 90 minutes long.  Participants will be setting up there own Personal Profiles, News, Calendars, etc. Participants will compare and critique each other’s sites to provide feedback for modification or improvement.  Each person will continue to work independently at home to apply what they have learned.  If they find a solution to an issue or can share a concept.  The blog link above is provided for online collaboration.

 

Finally, throughout all sessions participants will share and discuss training tips for implementation with entire faculty body in the future by using the blog

 

Week 4

Begin creation of personal Moodle LMS sites

Outcomes: Participants will learn to use and enter information into Moodle Personal Profiles http://sqooltechs.com/iste10.pdf 

  1. Participants share their progress from individual work during the week. Q and A.     10 minutes

  2. View You Tube video:  Setting Up Your Moodle Profile  5 minutes

  3. Independent Work on computers.  20-30 minutes

  4. Break  5 minutes

  5. Independent Work on computers.  20-30 minutes

  6. Discussion on progress and plans for the week  15 minutes

  7. Join the ACE Moodle PD blog so we can collaborate in between sessions.

 

Week 5

Continue creation of personal Moodle LMS sites

  1. Participants share their progress.   Q and A.  10 minutes

  2. View You Tube video: Moodle Calendar  10 minutes

  3. Independent Work on computers.  20-30 minutes

  4. Break  5 minutes

  5. View You Tube video: News Forum   2 minutes

  6. Continue Independent work on computers.  20-30 minutes

  7. Discussion on progress and plans for the week  15 minutes

  8. Remember to use the ACE_Moodle PD blog to collaborate in between sessions.

Week 6

  1. Adjust as needed from survey results.  Split into pairs, groups, etc.   Participants share their progress.  Q and A.  10 minutes

  2. View You Tube video: Setting Up Your Course In Moodle  7 minutes

  3. Independent Work on computers.  20-30 minutes

  4. Break  5 minutes

  5. View You Tube video: Adding Resources to your Course  8 minutes

  6. Independent Work on computers.  20-30 minutes

  7. Discussion on progress and plans for the week  15 minutes
